Heatwave continues in Queensland, Western Australia, cooler temperatures across rest of the capital cities


Rockhampton had its hottest February day in 50 years yesterday, topping 41 degrees, while, Brisbane’s temperatures climbed four degrees above average.

There will be a slight reprieve today, with Brisbane warming up to 32.

The heat will remain across Western Australia today with Port Headland to reach 41 degrees and Perth is expected to hit 36 degrees.

Across the rest of the country, the capitals will be cooler with Adelaide to reach 22 degrees, Melbourne 19, Sydney 23, Canberra 19 , Hobart 19 and Darwin will be a warmer 31 degrees.
