Neighbour arrested after man dies in house fire on NSW south coast

A 49-year-old man has died after his house was torched during an alleged argument with a neighbour on the NSW south coast.

Police say they have no doubt the fire was deliberately lit, and have arrested a man who lives a few doors away.

Cameron Johnson, 49, was killed in the fire in Bomaderry last night.

Emergency services managed to get him out, but it was too late.

Neighbour, Peter Nielsen, said it took an hour for fire crews to put it out.

“Nobody would have lasted long in there,” he said.

Harley Thompson, 26, who lives just four doors away was arrested.

Forensic detectives now have the job of figuring out how the fire started.
