Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw cleared for season debut on Sunday

Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, was set to face the San Francisco Giants on the opening night of the campaign but was scratched hours before the first pitch because of tightness in his back. Further evaluations showed nothing concerning and put him on the path toward an Aug. 2 start.

Kershaw notched a 16-5 record last season and holds a career mark of 169-74.
