Royal Housewives of Beverly Hills Star Denise Richards revealed this week, through her husband's Instagram post Aaron Phypers, that he underwent emergency surgery to repair hernias! Phypers published a series of photos of his wife in recovery, and wrote in the legend that Richards is "strengthening."
Richards republished the photos, and she explained on her Instagram page that the surgery really took place two months ago.
"This was a couple of months ago and it turned out to be a good lesson to always listen to my body," Richards wrote. "Being a mother, wife and having a career, sometimes it is easier to be strong and able."
The mother of three added that she thought her pain and other symptoms would "just disappear," but they didn't. Instead, everything got "much worse."
After going to the doctor, Richards discovered that he had two femoral hernias and two inguinal hernias. According to People MagazineInguinal hernias are visible and sit on the upper part of the groin. But, femoral hernias are placed lower near the femoral vein, and that makes them more difficult to diagnose.
Richards says she regrets waiting so long to tell her husband how bad she felt, and knows that "it was stupid, quot; to do so. She explained that we should always listen to our bodies and take care of ourselves.
Phypers praised his wife for her beauty, perseverance and dedication in everything she does, and called her "the most amazing woman, quot; and her "soulmate." He added that he waited about six hours while he was in surgery, and ended his legend declaring his love for his wife.
Earlier this year, Richards told his fans that he had an enlarged thyroid after some of them noticed it during Season 9 RHOBH meeting. She said it was something she had ignored until it was pointed out. Richards ended up changing her diet by eliminating gluten, and she couldn't believe the improvement.
"I had no idea how much our diet can really affect our body and for me how toxic gluten really is … I thank everyone who sent me messages," Richards wrote.
Denise Richards and her Royal Housewives of Beverly Hills the co-stars will return for season 10 when new episodes are released in 2020 in Bravo.
