Hoot, who is the single father of his four-year-old daughter, Macy, told him People magazine that Clarkson taught him how to be a better father during his time in The voice, and is grateful for that experience.

"And one thing I've always struggled with is if I was ever going to make full-time music, how much I wanted to make my family a priority in everything I did."
