To the disappointment of his fans, actor Orlando Jones revealed that he will no longer be part of American Gods after he was apparently fired. In other words, Mr. Nancy, the character he played in the program, no longer exists!
Jones turned to social networks to explain that the current showrunner believes that the "angry,quot; character could be sending the "wrong message for black America,quot; in the current political environment.
That said, at this time, executive producer Charles Eglee and American Gods production company Fremantle have not yet addressed the actor's claims.
In a video he tweeted, Jones said that in season 3, ‘There will be no more Mr. Nancy. Don't let these mothers say they love Mr. Nancy. They don't. I'm not going to name names, but the new showrunner of season 3 is born in Connecticut and educated in Yale, so he's very smart. And he thinks Mr. Nancy is angry, that the wrong message is made for black America. "
He went on to say: “ That's right, this white man sits in that decision-making chair and I'm sure he has many best black friends who are advisors and made it clear that if they didn't get rid of that angry god, Mr. Nancy, he would begin an uprising of Denmark Vesey in this country. I mean, what else could it be? & # 39;

Eglee was hired as the show's new showrunner and chief executive producer in May.
American Gods was originally created by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green and is based on the book with the same title as Neil Gaiman.
In response to their publication on the dismissal, Fuller and Green wrote "HEARTBREAKING."
