Marie Fredriksson, part of the Swedish pop / rock duo Roxette, died of cancer at the age of 61. Fredriksson and his bandmate Per Gessle found a massive success in 1990 with their success it must have been Love after it appeared in the Beautiful woman soundtrack.

Even so, Fredriksson managed to act until 2016 when he retired due to the effects of his illness.
"It's been an incredible 30 years! I feel nothing but joy and happiness when I look back at Roxette's world tours. All our shows and memories over the years will forever be a large part of my life," he said. at that moment.
She went on to say that she was particularly proud and grateful for her return in 2009 after her cancer diagnosis because she was able to take Roxette around the world a couple more times.
Gessle, Fredriksson's friend and bandmate for forty years, said she was the most wonderful friend and that things will never be the same now that she is gone. The duo met in the 1970s when he was Gyllen Tider's lead singer and songwriter and she was part of the pop group Strul & Ma Mas Barn.
