It's been about 3 years since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ended their very public marriage. That said, it seems that the male actor is finally opening up on how he dealt with the divorce, especially at the beginning of the end.
Fans know that Brad has had problems with alcohol abuse before and, although he is now much better after receiving help, he admits that he would use the drink as an "escape, quot; from everything that was happening in his life.
In other words, by abusing alcohol, he was trying to "escape, quot; from all his "mistakes."
Meanwhile, however, Brad has apparently learned to accept "shame, quot; in his life and remain sober.
While chatting for Interview magazine, Anthony Hopkins told Brad that "I have read that he had problems with alcohol and all that, quot; and that was when Brad was sincere about his drinking problems more than ever.
He explained that ‘Well, I only saw it as a bad service for myself, as an escape. I am realizing, as a true act of forgiveness for myself for all the choices I have made that I am not proud of, that I value those false steps, since they led me to some wisdom, which led me to another thing. You cannot have one without the other. I see it as something that I am doing now in my arms at this moment in my life. But I certainly don't feel I can take credit for any of that. "
Today, Brad is able to accept his faults and accept everything that happens in his life as something inevitable and beautiful, as far as he is concerned.
‘We have always given great importance to mistakes. But what you do after the mistake is what really defines a person. We are all going to make mistakes. But what is the next step? We, as a culture, do not seem to stay and see what the next step of that person is. And that's the part I find much more stimulating and interesting, "Brad continued to share with the media.
