The fantasy football playoffs are finally here in most leagues, so favorable confrontations are essential in as many positions as possible. D / ST is the easiest position to transmit, which is good because our Week 14 fantasy defense rating has some lower defenses than usual.
Unfavorable clashes are to blame for the cult, as the Patriots (vs. Chiefs), 49ers (@ Saints), Rams (vs. Seahawks) and Bills (vs. Ravens) are again in difficulty. This was also true last week with all those D / STs, and the results were not excellent. It is certainly possible that any of these talented D / STs can get good fantasy numbers, but it is an uphill battle in these clashes.
WEEK 14 RANKINGS NO PPR:
Field Marshal | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | Kicker
Unfortunately, many of the main clashes go to D / ST that you don't want to broadcast. The Dolphins (@ Jets), Cardinals (vs. Steelers) and Bengals (@ Browns) are in good places, but they're not really transmissible options in the fantasy playoffs. You better try the Colts (@ Buccaneers), the Packers (against the Redskins), the Texans (against the Broncos), the Seahawks (@ Rams) and maybe even the Falcons (against the Panthers), who have had some important weeks recently.
Again, in the fantasy playoffs, you can't afford to fail, either from someone you've been starting all year or from a broadcast. It's hard to know what to do with D / ST studs in bad clashes. In general, we recommend sitting them for units of greater potential that have been at least half decent this year. This week, there are enough legitimate transmissions for you to feel comfortable in sitting equipment like the Pats and 49ers if you get one of the best sleepers in the exemptions.
NOTE: Check back for updates throughout the week.
